Software can read invoices and prepare the books. In Lithuania, a person still has to review the result, sign it off and file it. Book Keeping Lithuania puts the two together: a private FiscFort portal for the business and a verified partner accountant for the review and the filing. This article explains who does what, how a business and an accountant each join, and how the legal side is arranged.
Why a partner model
A business that only buys software still needs an accountant. A business that only buys accounting still hands over documents to be typed in. FiscFort sells one service that includes both: the platform prepares the books from uploaded documents and bank statements, and a partner accountant reviews, signs off and files.
Who does what
- The business uploads invoices and bank statements to its own FiscFort portal.
- The platform prepares the books and the Lithuanian reports and filings: i.SAF, GPM313, SAM and SD notices.
- The partner accountant reviews the books, signs off and files the declarations with the authorities. Nothing is submitted to the authorities automatically.
- FiscFort provides the platform (hosting, backups, updates and support), assigns the accountant and is the customer's contracting party for the whole service.
How a business gets a partner accountant
Register and order
The business registers in the portal and orders Book Keeping Lithuania: €150 per month, plus VAT, calculated at checkout.
Pay the first invoice
FiscFort assigns a partner accountant after the first payment. The business and the accountant are both notified.
Work through the portal
The business uploads its documents; the accountant reviews and files. Questions go through tickets in the portal, so both sides can follow them.
If the service ends
The accountant's access ends with the service. The business receives its latest data export as a ZIP file attached to a support ticket, and after that the environment is erased.
How an accountant joins
Register as a partner accountant
Registration is online. By registering, the accountant accepts the Partner Accountant Terms.
Verification
FiscFort checks the accountant's company registration and asks for identification and proof of address. Without both, a registration cannot be approved. This is FiscFort's own check, not a state accreditation.
Approval and assignment
Once approved, the accountant is assigned customers after they have paid. FiscFort does not guarantee a number of customers.
Work inside the customer's environment
The accountant uses personal logins in the customer's own environment and talks to the customer through tickets. Access ends as soon as the customer's service is no longer active.
Earnings
The accountant earns €100 for each paid monthly invoice of an assigned customer, paid by bank transfer. FiscFort issues the invoice for this fee on the accountant's behalf (self-billing). There is no exclusivity.
The legal set-up in plain words
The Law on Financial Accounting requires a provider of accounting services to set and follow a procedure for organising and controlling its work (article 14). In this programme FiscFort is the customer's contracting party, and the partner accountant is FiscFort's supplier, an independent professional. So the customer has one contract and one responsible party, and pays only FiscFort. The accountant's fee is settled between FiscFort and the accountant.
The state authority AVNT publishes a model form for the financial accounting services contract, which is the starting point for the customer contract.
What stays a human decision
The platform prepares; the accountant decides. The accountant reviews every filing before it goes to the authorities, exactly as an accountant would review a filing prepared by hand.
